TRADITIONAL ACUPUNCTURE
A NATURAL HEALING ART

TRADITIONAL ACUPUNCTURE enables the body/mind/ spirit to heal itself, as far as Nature will allow. Evidence has been found dating it back over 7000 years and it is therefore one of the world’s oldest systems of medicine.

In Chinese Medicine any illness or symptom, either physical, mental or of the spirit, is associated with an imbalance of the person’s vital life energy, or Qi. When the body sends out distress signals in the form of any symptom it is a sign that there is an imbalance of Qi, which must be re balanced to restore health. This is important because it means that the underlying cause of the dis-ease is being dealt with rather than the symptom merely being swept under the carpet only to reappear in the future.

This treatment deals with the patient’s condition by restoring the overall balance of energy and it helps the person to  feel better in a general way, thus promoting an improved quality of life.

WHO COMES FOR TREATMENT

A WIDE VARIETY of people ranging from children to the elderly. Many people come as their first choice of treatment whilst others may find it extremely beneficial  when other forms of treatment have been unsuccessful.

INCREASINGLY, PEOPLE are becoming aware of the need to take responsibility for their own health and to take measures to maintain their well-being prior to the onset of symptoms. Since the deterioration of balance always precedes the onset of symptoms traditional acupuncture may also be used as a preventative aimed at maintaining health on all levels.
AS WELL AS seeking help for physical problems, many come with stress-related disorders and the effects of mental and emotional conflicts in their lives. Traditional acupuncture affects the whole person-body, mind and spirit and will therefore help a very wide range of health problems.

WITH SOME conditions Western medical treatment should be the first choice, or should be used in conjunction with acupuncture. An acupuncture practitioner should be able to give you advice and guidance in this respect.

ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENT re-establishes the balance of energy within the individual. Very fine stainless steel needles are inserted into acupuncture points to achieve this.
For those who experience difficulty with needles alternative treatment may be offered.

MOXIBUSTION
(the application of warmth) may also be used, on its own or in combination with acupuncture needles.

‘ If you just treat people in order to relieve their pains, if you are not able to put them back on the right track in accord with the person they are and the situation they are in, then you are only doing half your work, and maybe you are wasting their time not to mention your own ’
